On February 25, 2024, the University of Zakho participated in the Kurdistan Region-Iraq Universities Debate Championship (KRIUDC), hosted by the University of Kurdistan in Erbil. This prestigious and competitive event was organized by the Rwanga Foundation and the International Academy for Leadership and Development (IALD). The championship brought together talented debaters from seventeen governmental and private universities in the region.

Represented by students Dawood Fadheel, Rojeen Chalabi, Haval Qays, and Dirin Khorsheed, the University of Zakho secured the third position in KRIUDC.

This remarkable achievement not only attests to the university’s dedication to academic excellence and fostering critical thinking but also demonstrates its competence in competitive debates.
